LLC – Local Landcare Coordinator Liverpool Plains Penny Milson
Penny’s role as Local Landcare Coordinator in the Liverpool Plains Region covers the Gunnedah Shire and Liverpool Plains Shire Council areas.
Local Landcare Coordinators are part of a statewide initiative that is structured to deliver three primary components:
Local Coordinators; working with networks to build capacity and foster great action Community of Practice; a mentoring, support and networking program to help land carers share, communicate and learn from each other Sustaining Landcare; a program to build a sustainable financial footing for Landcare into the future.
Penny Milson was appointed to the role of Local Landcare Coordinator in the Liverpool Plains Region (Gunnedah Shire and Liverpool Plains Shire Council areas) in late September 2019.
Originally from a farm in Barraba, Penny has developed a life-long love of the natural environment and our native species, especially birds.
Based in Tamworth, Penny has a background in health promotion and project management, most recently being employed by the National Heart Foundation as Regional Health Promotion Coordinator (New England).
She holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Public Health and is an active member of Sustainable Northwest, a sub-committee of the Tamworth Regional Landcare Association.
