Northwest Carbon Forums host leading industry expert Dr Terry McCosker Learn about carbon sequestration and accessing carbon markets 8th September Crossing Theatre Narrabri 9th September Powerhouse Hotel Tamworth Northwest Landcare through funding from the State and Federal Governments are thrilled to host world leading soil carbon sequestration expert Dr Terry McCosker, to share his knowledge with local landholders on the latest research and information on sustainable soil practices.

Dr. McCosker is a scientist, internationally acclaimed speaker, and the Founding Director of CarbonLink, recognised as pioneers and leaders in the soil carbon industry. Having worked on the land and in research and property management for over 45 years, Terry is a leading force in pasture ecology, and has published over 40 research papers. He combines a lifetime of practical experience and scientific knowledge . We are honoured to have him present at the North West Carbon Forums.

The Northwest Carbon Forums are an opportunity to learn from other farmers, and industry stakeholders about emerging options for on-farm emissions reduction and carbon sequestration. Farmers will learn more on sustainable soil practices, and practical information on accessing carbon markets. There is also an important Q & A session with Terry who can answer your questions on the latest practices.

You may have seen that Clancy Lester, also known as The Bee Man, is heading to Tamworth! Before building bee hotels at Currawong Park, Clancy will be our guest speaker at Landcare Learning on March 17 at UNE centre, where he’ll explore Australia’s native bees, their relationship with flowering plants, and simple, practical actions we can all take to support biodiversity.  This is a free event, with light refreshments but please visit the link and register to secure your seat. Did you know (TRLA) run an Annual Small Grants program for Landcare activities connected to the Tamworth region.

Volunteer Landcare and Grassroots Community groups can apply up to $2,500 for activities that meet an objective of TRLA’s strategic plan with eight successful projects being awarded funds from across the region.
