Building an Ecologically useful Corridor on Farm
Join North West Local Land Services and Tamworth Regional Landcare Association (TRLA) for a workshop on dam enhancements, ecosystem management, ecological corridors, biodiversity, and practical restoration tools.
Event details:
Learn practical strategies for enhancing farm dams and managing ecosystems on your property with host landholders Wayne and Nell Chaffey, ecologist Liz Blair from Ecosystem Thinking, and Paul Moxon from TRLA nursery.
What you’ll explore:
- demonstration of Farm dam enhancements and benefits
- building ecological corridor on a farm -stories from landholders
- valuing fauna on farms and environmental accounting
- practical tools for ecosystem baselining and restoration ecology
- planting design to build an ecological corridor on the farm.

- Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

North West Local Land Services invites you to join Dr Ernie Harbott for a practical, hands-on composting workshop designed to help you build healthier, more productive soils using simple and sustainable methods.
This interactive session will cover different composting systems, balancing materials for effective decomposition, managing moisture and temperature, troubleshooting common issues, and applying finished compost to support productive landscapes. With demonstrations, Q&A, and practical insights from Dr Harbott’s years of experience.

Friends of Moore Creek Cave Working Bee
3rd Saturday of every month from 8.30am, held at Moore Creek Caves Reserve (end of Maysteers Lane)
Activities which are undertaken at the MCCR working bee include:
- Weeding
- Tree planting
- Tree maintenance
- Native bee hive care
- Seed collecting
- Seed processing
- Propagation & nursery days
- Free local native plant giveaways
- Social morning teas
- Chat with experts on ecology, aboriginal culture of the reserve, bush foods and the environment
