This hands-on event is designed to equip women with the skills and knowledge to enhance soil health, boost farm productivity, and contribute to sustainable land management.

Participants will gain hands-on experience conducting soil and water tests, learning from a panel of esteemed experts in the field. Bring your own soil and water samples for on-the-spot testing and analysis!

Meet Our Expert Speakers

🌱 Dr. Robert Banks – Certified Practising Soil Scientist (CPSS)
Dr. Banks, Director of SoilFutures Consulting, brings over 30 years of expertise in soil science, geomorphology, and sustainable land management. Based in the Liverpool Plains, he has worked extensively with farmers and community groups to develop drought-resilient systems and improve soil productivity. He will introduce participants to different soil types and explain how soil composition impacts plant growth and farm productivity.

💧 Anne Michie – Soil and Water Testing Specialist
Anne is an expert in soil and water assessments and will guide participants through hands-on testing methods. She will demonstrate how to analyse soil and water samples on the spot, giving attendees practical skills to assess soil health and make informed farming decisions.

🌿 Dr. Aurelie Quade – Soil Health and Carbon Specialist
Dr. Quade will dive into the importance of soil carbon levels and their influence on soil fertility and sustainability. She will explore how carbon sequestration can improve soil structure, increase water retention, and support long-term farm viability.
